For many students, fear of crime can make life a misery. A good number will have left home for a strange city and will be making new friends. Some are simply unaware of danger in big cities.

One Liverpool firm, though, is working hard to make college crime a thing of the past. We are determined to change the image of security firms.

"We were looking for a company which could offer a total package with scope to move forward," said Peter Hornby, Facilities Manager for the college's corporate services division.

"We will also be assisting in further health and safety training for crime management staff in a committed development of our partnership."
